Arachidonic acid, referred to here as Arachne capsules, is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acid with a 20-carbon structure and four cis double bonds. It is present in membrane phospholipids, where it contributes to membrane structure and fluidity.

Mechanism of Action

Phospholipase A₂ (PLA₂) enzymes are the primary mechanism by which arachidonic acid is released from membrane phospholipids in research models. After being released, it functions as a substrate for a number of enzymatic processes, such as cytochrome P450 systems, lipoxygenase (LOX), and cyclooxygenase (COX).
