Hexarelin is a synthetic growth hormone secretagogue made from six amino acids. It contains powerful potential growth hormone releasing properties in the human body. Hexarelin in studies over a certain period has shown that it may possibly reduce visceral fat. Hexarelin like other Growth Hormone Releasing Peptides is most effective synergistically when administered with GHRH such as Sermorelin or Modified GRF 1-29. The increase of circulating GH through Hexarelin use may cause levels of Insulin-Like Growth Factor (IGF-1) to rise in the liver. IGF-1 is the prime cause of muscle growth in response to GH stimulation.

May Protect the Heart
Studies in mice suggest Hexarelin may have the potential to protect heart cells from damage in the event of a heart attack by binding to CD36 receptors and preventing cells from undergoing apotosis. Mice treated with Hexarelin in this study showed improved heart function, increased number of surviving heart cells, and decreased production of malondialdehyde (a marker of cell death). Interestingly, a study done on rats investigated the ability of GHRP-6 to offset problems associated with heart failure and found that the peptide reduces oxidative stress in heart failure and prevents myocardial remodelling from taking place.
